Origin
The Ficus cyathistipula originally comes from the tropical regions of Africa, specifically the central and western parts. This plant, which can be found in many different habitats, populates tropical rainforests, mangroves and near rivers among other places. Also known as the African fig tree, this species is an important part of African flora.

Characteristics
The Ficus cyathistipula is an evergreen shrub or small tree that can grow up to 12 metres high. Characteristic of this ficus are the elliptical to oval-shaped leaves, which are glossy green and can grow up to 18 cm long.
